A New Day!

This morning I started back into my old routine of getting up early and walking. I have been in a bit of a rut lately and this week the Lord showed me that I needed to get back to what He wants me to do. So, I am getting up at 4:00 am and walking before my beloved husband goes to work. This also gives me a good hour or more of quiet time to spend with the Lord before I shower and the kids get moving. Today was a hard transition, but I did it. The coolest part is how supportive my husband is. After my shower I got into my stuff for my face and hair and found a card. The front of it said "It's very simple. I love you." He wrote some very encouraging words on the inside and it just totally blessed me. We have not had cable for over a week now and I think it is bringing our family closer together. Every night after dinner we are spending the time together and the TV is hardly ever on anymore! I am so loving this time we have, and am really enjoying the time my husband and I get when the kids go to bed. We can just sit on the couch and read together, or sometimes put in a movie and just sit together and it is so nice. I love my precious husband and am so thankful for what the Lord is doing in him, me and our family!

Clear

This weekend was revealing for me. The Holy Spirit moved in my life in a way that I can't even understand and He made some things so clear to me. I don't even understand it all, but I know that today I feel like a different person. I have spent the last three weeks fasting and things that have not been clear to me lately are now very clear and it is like I am understanding what I am supposed to be doing. I am sure that doesn't even make sense, but it is where I am at today and I am loving it. Thank you for the comments from my last post. I was really down and on myself about stuff and was having a really hard day and your comments really motivated me and encouraged me. My life verse is Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." He has been showing me that He knows what my desires are even if I am not asking for them or seeking them out. As long as I keep my focus on Him, He is going to take care of me and then bless me with my unspoken desires. I can't wait to see the many blessings He will send my way in 2009. I pray you all are having a great day in the Lord and remember that you too are blessed and highly favored and are a prince or princess of the Most High King!

Word of God

Well, I have been taking some time this past week to really seek the face of the Lord, and in doing this I have been trying to put different scripture through out my house. My best friend pointed out to me yesterday afternoon when I was struggling that I needed to ask Him for His energy not just strength. Made sense, so I did and my afternoon went much better. I tried to look up scripture on energy and I found Colossians 1:26-29 "This mystery has been kept in the dark for a long time, but now it's out in the open. God wanted everyone, not just Jews, to know this rich and glorious secret inside and out, regardless of their background, regardless of their religious standing. The mystery in a nutshell is just this: Christ is in you, so therefore you can look forward to sharing in God's glory. It's that simple. That is the substance of our Message. We preach Christ, warning people not to add to the Message. We teach in a spirit of profound common sense so that we can bring each person to maturity. To be mature is to be basic. Christ! No more, no less. That's what I'm working so hard at day after day, year after year, doing my best with the energy God so generously gives me." This passage is from the Message bible and it really encouraged me. It is what I want in my life, to keep the message of Christ simple, to not add any of me in it, to share God's glory, and "to do my best with the energy God so generously gives me". Then last night before bed I came across Psalm 119:50 in the New King James which says "This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your Word has given me life". This passage confirmed the earlier verse for me and reminded me that His Word gives me everything I need to make it through my days, minute by minute sometimes. So, as I start this new year, I am putting scripture up through out my house to encourage me, to remind me of His infinite power, that He is my Shepherd and that He wants to work in me and through me.

2 Thessalonians 2:15-17

"So, friends, take a firm stand, feet on the ground and head high. Keep a tight grip on what you were taught, whether in personal conversation or by our letter. May Jesus himself and God our Father, who reached out in love and surprised you with gifts of unending help and confidence, put a fresh heart in you, invigorate your work, enliven your speech." This is from the message and it was my prayer this morning. I pray it encourages and comforts you today.

Luke 19:1-10

Have you ever thought about how Jesus didn't pass through anywhere and not get involved. I wonder how the disciples felt about that? I have been out with people that always seem to be busy talking to other people they run into and don't seem to have time for me. I know that is frustrating to me and so I wonder how the disciples felt when ever they went into a new town and people came up to Jesus and wanted Him all the time. To think that when they entered a town people would come and line the road just to get a glimpse of Him. They didn't go anywhere unnoticed. I mean Zacchaeus climbed a tree just to get a glimpse of Jesus. And then can you imagine the feelings he had when Jesus stopped under the tree, looked up and told him to come down because He was going to come over to his house. Wow. I know my heart would have been pounding really hard with excitement and probably some concern too. Now, here is Jesus sitting in Zacchaeus's home, I can't imagine what was going through his mind. To think that Zacchaeus was inviting Jesus to come and take a load off and in his house sat the very one who could take away all his troubles. I think that is pretty amazing! Then Zacchaeus told the Lord he was going to give half of his stuff away to the poor and if he cheated anyone he would pay them back four times the amount. I think that is so cool how he was willing and eager to do what he knew in his heart was the right thing to do. There seemed to be no resistance on his part. I know that is hard for me sometimes to do what the Spirit asks me to do the moment He asks me to do it, but I get encouragement from Zacchaeus this morning.
