Hmmmm....

I would like to say that I am a dedicated blogger, but as you can see, I am not. There are so many things I want to say, but can never seem to find the time to put them down into words. In the past few months so many things have happened to me and my family that I am going to try my very best to share them with you. Honestly, the reason I have not put much down here is because I have been trying not to be too personal in my blog, but that just is not working for me anymore. Starting now I am going to be sharing all of my heart with you. I have realized that I am very guarded with my thoughts and sometimes the Lord wants me to share them. Here is a brief summary of what has happened and what is to come, along with anything new that comes along. My daughter turned 8, my youngest son turned 3, Belize, Midwest home school conference, and more I am sure that I can't remember. So, if you are interested in hearing more about my heart keep checking back! It should be pretty interesting stuff :)

Oh Lord, Be Thou Near To Me...

This is the words to a song I have posted on the right side of my blog. I have never added a song here before so I hope this works :)

Oh Lord I come with heart here open,
For in my hour of darkness I'm in need.
Seeking the joy of love unspoken
Oh Lord be Thou near to me.

And the holy voices “Hallelu!”
Ever will Thy reign be.
As I wander through this life,
Oh Lord, be Thou near to me.

Though In this burden of my making
Yet in the shadows still a light
I see Maker whose love is not forsaking
Oh lord be thou near to me

And the holy voices “Halleluja!”
Ever will Thy reign be.
As I wander through this life,
Oh Lord, be Thou near to me.

I have some things heavy on my heart today and this song really ministered to me. I have not been taking my time with the Lord lately and this is hurting my spiritual walk greatly. Because of this I have been trying to make decisions on my own and cannot do this any longer. I need to get back into worship and fellowship with Him and today this song really ministered to me. Anyway, I am also trying to be more transparent in my life so in doing that I wanted to share this with you my blogger friends. Thanks for taking the time to listen to me share from my heart today.

The Good Shepherd

It has been a few days since I posted last and I wanted to share a couple of things that I heard this past weekend at my church. My pastor shared some statistics with us and one of them really saddened me. Only 2% of people who call themselves Christians actually share their faith consistently. That surprised me when he shared that with us on Sunday. I hope that I do not fall into that 2%. His message was talking about a shepherd's heart from Luke 2:8-20, and that is what I want to share. "A shepherd's heart is faithful. A shepherd's heart is expectant. A shepherd's heart is infectious and a shepherd's heart is humble." I have been searching my heart wondering if I am faithful, am I doing what the Lord wants me to be doing? Am I expectant, am I expecting more gifts this season or more of Jesus? Am I infectious, am I sharing my faith with others consistently? The Christ I don't share is the Christ I don't keep. Am I humble? Moses and David are two old testament leaders who were shepherds, and Jesus referred to Himself as the good shepherd. My prayer today is that I can be a shepherd for Jesus Christ and consistently share who He is in my life and what He is doing, because He is doing so much for me and I am so thankful He would humble Himself to come to this earth, and die for my sins and I didn't even have to ask Him.
